Have a Break..

Sometimes companies do genius things and this is one of them.

The next version of Android, long rumoured to be called Key Lime Pie (its always a sweet or pudding in incremental alphabetic order), will actually be called..

KitKat..

Judging by social media trending no one cares about the sept 10th iPhone invitation, or the Microsoft buyout of Nokia, its all about the name of Android! Its also overwhelmingly a positive reaction.

Well played Google..

I love that no one saw this coming and given that a deal had to be done with 3 companies involved, its a brilliant troll to pull on the technology sector.

Its everywhere. The BBC have the full write up, which is unusual in itself given their hideous Apple bias.

3 Companies?

1. Google
2. Nestlé
3. ???

The KitKat brand is owned by Hershey in the US.

tareim 3rd September 2013 22:01

not quite, it's licensed from Nestlé

rovexCDTi 3rd September 2013 22:03

Same difference, they still had to be in the loop.

I always like a good android upgrade! Just hope the new version is a little more different / exciting then 4.3 which didn't really do that much.

Nice thing about having the Nexus 4 is at least I know I'll get it within a few days of it being launched.
