Passenger side tail light moisture ingress
Hello,
I seem to have moisture/condensation in the tail light only on the white/clear plastic - the red is fine. The casing of the light seems bone dry - so has anyone had similar and where is the moisture coming from. |
Logically, it's getting inside via the dodgy foam gasket. The probable reason why the 'white' lens fogs and the red one doesn't is their slightly different interior temperatures. This is due to the rate of heat transfer through the light/colourless plastic compared with the dark plastic. Maybe time get some new seals?

Sorry I didn't spot it's a tourer. No, they don't use a gasket. I believe the lamps are 'sealed' units which should be weatherproof. So, a failed joint/crack in the plastic case or a leaky bulb-holder is what to look for. I know the tourer lamp cases tend to fracture around the mounting lugs for the screws, so maybe check those?
