We did one of their ‘wheelbarrow days’ a few years ago, £80 and you could put whatever you could carry in a wheelbarrow.

Not too far from me, years ago it was called Simpson salvage. You have to wear a hi viz
vest and steel toe cap boots , plus it's a pound entrance. You need to keep checking the website for new cars coming in , or there is never much left but scraps ... people now buy lots of parts then sell them elsewhere. |
Made me laugh.
Many years ago when I was much younger and stronger I went to one of these with my uncle and cousin, they had one that was anything you can carry out for £5. I think it was up Blackburn way but I wasn't driving on that day, my cousin had a Chevette with a front end crunch and it needed panels, there were many of them in that yard and we cut off a set of front panels to take. I put the front panels across my shoulders like a milk maid carrying churns, it felt very light to me and so, we loaded it up with loads of stuff, starters, alternators and anything we could until I was starting to buckle at the knees. In the end we had hundreds of pounds worth on my shoulders and I carried it to the gate, my cousin was paying and the scrapyard owner was almost crying as I carried it out for £5, he was trying hard to tell us it wasn't what he meant when he posted the advert but, he was stuffed.

Been a few times over the years not bad thankfully a yard where you can pull the parts off yourself, not like most these days.
Haven't seen a 75/zt in there for some time. My only annoyance With them is how they stack the cars on to steel wheels (they always stack the car on suspension components on to steel wheels) wish they would use the body instead. |

There is a u pull it in Inverkeithing too, just the other side of the bridge from Edinburgh. In fact I was there yesterday crawling into the boot of a 75 that had had all its windows done in

I used to love that type of yard: I would go and practice dismantling something there before trying it on mine. Loved trying to hop from one stack to the next.
