Slight misfire (1.8t manual)

Under hard acceleration my car has developed a "slight" misfire. It's not there all the time however.

I've changed the plugs, but was just wondering where is the cheapest place to purchase plug leads? I may have to change the coil packs too.

Thanks.

The most common cause for a misfire on the 1.8 is a leaking inlet manifold gasket:} Most parts can be found from Mat at DMGRS http://www.dmgrs.co.uk

Thanks. I'll check that out.

I've used these to good effect:

(Hope this link is allowed?)

Also check the plug gap is not to large, tired coils prefer a smaller gap.

A plug gap of somewhere between .65 & .75mm may help.

A misfire under acceleration is more usually a sign of a tired coil park rather than the inlet manifold gasket.
