Question for T4 users

Hi all.
Sorry this isn't 75 related, it's ZR k series. I'm asking here because all the knowledge is here..
My T4 is telling me that number 2 cylinder has been misfiring 256 times.
Which is number 2 cylinder? Do I go from cambelt end as being number 1????

Thanks.

Pete.

Yes, cylinders are numbered left to right.

Could be plugs take them out and check them.
I checked a fellow at works focus on the laptop as it was misfiring now and again told him to remove and check the plugs as I had no tools with me.
He went and bought leads and coil pack and was still the same when I asked if he’d checked the plugs but he said someone told him they’ll be fine. Upon removal 1 had no electrode left new plugs and all is well again.

Worth checking anyway before buying parts.

The plugs were the first things I changed. Put iridium ones in and it was the same. That's when I decided to get the T4 out.

So, new leads on and it's almost perfect, except first thing in the morning, or after a cold start. I start the car, it purrs for a minute or so and then gradually starts to chug a bit and missfire and the exhaust smells a bit rich, drive it gently and it's OK, floor it and it is still missfiring under load at low revs but not as before. Past 2500 rpm and there is no missfire that I can sense.
Once the engine is up to temperature, it's fine, no missfifirng anywhere, low revs under load etc.
Any ideas people ????

It's had:
New plugs and leads.
New coolant temp sensors, Both of them.

Pete.

Did you replace the coil packs?

pletevl 26th March 2019 14:38

No, not yet.

So, one brand new coil pack and no difference which ever one I replace.

I think it's a fueling problem. At start up it's fine, a minute later it starts to smell rich from the exhaust and starts chugging and missfiring under load at anything under 2400 revs. Once up to temperature it's fine, no missfire at all, even when flooring it at 1100 rpm.

Pete.
