Sealing waist trims - how?

Well it appears I have a boot water ingress issue from one of the waist trim clips/fixings.

What is the best way to go about resolving this please? I figured there must be a better way than simply spodging silicone around the fixings...

Ta in advance :}

Nope, silicone is the answer.

Originally the trim clips came with tiny foam seals, but they no longer come with the seals. So silicone is the answer.

Cheers Rich

Just splodge some around or is it worth removing the trims first? If so how do they come off?

Just seems a bit if a bodge, don't really want moisture trapped around the fixings.

Thanks again!

It is best to remove the trim in my eyes. But the clips are £15 for 10.

I have used Sikaflex for this and fixing leaky windows in the boat! If it keeps the sea out it will work on your car. It is designed to accept movement between bits and comes in a few colours. I used it to seal the rear lights on my old 75. Worked perfectly.
