Sunday 6 December 10am – Concorde tour ( £15 per person – pay on the day )

As the Concorde tour and the Yorkie Xmas meal have become one and the same thing, I have started off a new thread which I will now update daily.

I have gone through both threads and took all the names from them which are shown below, I have created 2 lists those staying on the Saturday and also attending the Concorde tour and those just coming to see Concorde. For now I have assumed that all those that have not already booked to stay over are for the Concorde tour only, but as and when you book please post and I will keep changing the list. If you are no longer coming please also let us know as I need to confirm numbers asap

Currently the hotel has a special offer and double room rates are reduced from £45 to £29 ( car parking £5 per night + meals extra ) To get the special offer open the above link and click on Lenny Henry, then click on Book Premier Offers, select Manchester Airport from the drop down list and away you go, card details are requested but no money is taken until the day of the stay, special offer bookings cannot be cancelled once made.

Booking has now been confirmed with the tour organisers:

Cost 15 per person and this is inclusive of the amount that you would normally pay for entry into the viewing area, and parking - please pay on the day as i have took care of the deposit.

We are likely to have spaces reserved so we can all park together on a hard area somewhere near the DC10 so we will have a bit of a backdrop

Organisers will require a list of full names before the tour ( not forum names ! )
so please pm me anytime with this information and i will compile a list.

Car registrations not required just number of cars which i can work out from the information already on the thread.

I suspect you may be a little out with that calculation Brian, see what happens over the next few days. ;)

i will make the booking final tomorrow and confirm the cost, so will ask and make sure, although i was told £15, watch this space.

Errm! Has all this been confirmed yet? I understood Rob was going to confirm the Concorde visit tomorrow.

I've now got to work on Mrs L. again. It's going to be something like this-

You know that you don't really want a romantic setting for a night out at our age, do you my dear?

What you mean, our age? Your age maybe. You know I was a child bride. My mother warned me about marrying someone so old.

Yeah, yeah. I know. But it would be good to stay with a few other 75 owners and have a meal and a chat.

Humph! That lot again, I suppose. Who will be there? Anyone I know?

Well, there's Rob.

Is he the guy who kept opening and sometimes closing his sunroof and setting his alarm off every 5 minutes at Peterborough?

Err, yes. And there's Brian, you met him when we parked.

Oh! The one waving his arms around and running and shouting all morning?

(wincing and sucks breath through teeth) Yep that would be the one. But there's Dave, you met him at Cosford.

Oh... yes..... I remember..... I thought I saw him asleep on top of an engine, is he, y'know, allright? You're not really serious about this are you? Can't you be happy just with your nose in your computer all the time?

Well that's a result, no more moaning about the computer. :D

trebor 25th October 2009 22:19

yes Bernard its as good as confirmed because i already have the Concorde tour provisionally booked subject to a deposit which i will pay tomorrow.

When i started the original thread i needed 15 which is the minimum for a group tour, but there are now over 30 with names down so even if one or two drop out it will still go ahead.

Dont forget to tell your wife that she can travel there in a recently sprayed
V8 and meet up with some members wives who probably wont talk about 75/ZT's all night long, plus the fact my wife likes wine so maybe drinking buddies, go on book the hotel at £29 you know it makes sense.

We will even let you lead the convoy down to Concorde the next day

2Diesels 25th October 2009 22:19

Right you can put me & my dad down for both, room booked;)

Regards Colin
