Blue Smoke Problem

Help, My Diesel has developed a smoke problem when starting up kicks out quite a bit, after running it for about ten minutes or so at about 2000 revs, when the engine temp reaches 9 o clock the smoke tends to die down, also it would seem to be missing every now and again,

Blue smoke is generally burning engine oil.

Worn valve stem seals can leak oil into the bores over night.

Also perhaps the turbo.

Don't guess this one, replace the PCV filter, then a dose of injector cleaner ;)

Failing that, take it to a competent T4 operator who know what to look for in the live data department.

Did you not have similar problem last year Jules? I thought you changed the pcv valve filter and it was ok?

Hi, yes I did but at that time a garage had put too much oil after a service I took over a litre of oil out and it appeared to cure the problem, I am probably a fool by not using the car as much as I should do, today I took her for a run out and kept her in third gear at around 2500 th revs, and I think it seemed to have got rid of the problem, time will tell and I shall use her more often and give the V6 a rest.
