Reverse gear cuts out engine

Hi
I have a rover 75 CDTi diesel auto 2003 and when I put it in reverse it moves a bit then cuts out but goes forward no probs.

Inhibitor switch/selector cable adjustment? :shrug:Check that the cables are in the clips etc.

If you mean the engine still runs but you have no drive. Do a search on here for reverse piston
