Those mowers never cut very well. They often overheat (probably head gasket problems)!:getmecoat:

:D you guys are stuck in the past, they are top notch adidas running, training, bottoms I need them for the Nano meets :D

PS that fan must of had a missile go through the bottom grill at sometime, as the cowling was snapped clean on the left hand bottom, and the fan blade fell on the floor when I took the front bumper off, good job the fan was not working or it would have cause untold damage.

Hi David.
Below is the condition of bones fan once it was taken apart for investigation.

As we know 1.8 fan control lid taken off.

Remove the broken cowling for the motor.

start of removing the rusty back plate/lid.

The back plate lifted

Right away you can see burning damage.

Remove the board holding the brushes, right away you are confronted with the real extent of a stuck motor and the damage caused.

Here you can see that the low speed brush as been completely burned away, the medium worn down to a 1/4
https://i.imgur.com/ugNDGXql.jpg9

Every brush as hot burning residue marks on them, as well as the wiring wind and commutator.

Quite a few of the windings have burnt completely through.

The only thing salvageable is the wiring loom & control box, these still need to be checked before they could possibly be used for another project.

I don't know how this as been missed, you would certainly have known by either smell or noise of it being stuck, lucky escape that no more damage was caused

bl52krz 21st October 2019 22:46

Hi Steve. I would think that you would have heard that give up the ghost? And like you say, the smell of the burnt windings and the rest of the burnt offering you would have smelt it .
