MGRover Remaps

Good morning all,

Just a quick introduction about myself and the services we can supply.

I'm one of the gentlemen behind SAWS Tuning, a MGRover Remapping specialist located in Manchester.

We offer true custom written remaps with rolling road results for £150 , including EGR & MAF Delete .This includes a diagnostics session to ensure your pride & joy is running as she should before we do any work, on VVC engines for example we watch the cam duration in real time to check the mechanisms are working properly.

If Manchester is a bit too far we also offer remaps via post or through our agent in Peterborough (currently no rolling road available).

All the work we do is developed and written by us from countless hours of R&D. And because of our confidence in our work it currently comes with a try before you buy offer, so if you're not satisfied with the outcome in any way there's no fuss to put you back to how you came with no fee (can even keep the dyno results)

Any questions feel free to ask,
Steve

Whats the difference between the remaps offered by you ,and the remap offered by our other traders .

Apart from the price, because theirs is cheaper for a start, and have done the "test of time"

I think I'll watch this thread

That's a very good price , especially considering the rolling road use and dyno report .

The work I do truely releases the potential in the engine, by correctly adjust the fuel limiting controls. Something I've seen time and time again done incorrectly in the tuning industry.

These remaps can also be adjusted to run MAFless should you wish to avoid the need for a replacement unit and the EGR can be disabled.

And with it being custom tuned on a dyno it can be done to work within the limitations of your particular car rather than a one side fits all approach.

As per my original post folks are more than welcome to stop by and try us out. Whether you have a standard car or one that's previously be tinkered with.

On my own ZT the difference between what I could assemble in an evening vs a previous tune was genuinely night and day

Have you compared a car that has "previously be tinkered with" with a remap to a car remapped by you ?
and if so how did the results compare?
Ken.

I have, however I was a silly billy and overwrote the original results (dyno only holds 6 runs and I did a few sessions to tweak my mapping)

"Previous" - 134hp & about 215lbft (as I recall, tired MAF sensor doesn't help)

My tune (MAFless) - 149hp & 260lbft , torque limited as clutch was slipping under load but managed to get a strong top end so still rewarding to use full rev range.

Both done on same car , same dyno, same day. So about as fair as one can get.

Also going to say this , if you're happy with what you got that's perfectly fine. I'm not going to say you should change or that what you have is rubbish (apart from £5 ebay tunes they are rubbish!) This post is more to show other options for those who maybe are looking for a bit more or considering the options before picking a supplier

Hi,

Can you remap a 1.8 turbo - as the remap guys on here are unable as far as i know to re-map a turbo 160 to 200 bhp ? If so are you charging £150 for this - if so much less than Kmaps:}.

We certainly can and yes just £150 :)

MAF sensors get tired that's an unfortunate fact, I mentioned it to at least be fair rather than take a cheap shot ? And yes we had clutch slip issues on the beat up £400 test rig, no history on clutch etc so can only assume it was the original unit. If the clutch was on better condition there was certainly more torque hiding away in there.

I myself am paying to be a trader and do my best to help the community where I can. Only recently I travelled to a local ZR owner who was having running issues and diagnosed it as a faulty lambda sensor for him..no charge, I just didn't want to see the guy waste time and money on changing any more parts needlessly
