Sill damage caused by garage?

Had my car Mot'd on Wednesday and had 2 new tyres fitted at same garage.

However, today I spotted a lovely dent and 5 inch scrape on the front nearside sill. The damage is too low to be caused by another car. I have seen on here that other people have had their sills damaged by the garage using the raising ramps.

I wasn't able to check the car as SWMBO picked it up from MOT as I was at work. She doesn't know every single blemish on my car as I do so can't blame her for not seeing it. :o

So, I am gonna call into the garage first thing in the morning and see what they have to say for themselves.

If it wouldn't look so ugly, I would paint damn great arrows on the sills with the caption " Jacking point here, mongoose-brain " ! So many tyre fitters etc just put the jacks anywhere

I had a similar experience when I had a job done on a previous 75. The chap/chapet who drove (aimed) my car into the workshop managed to scrape the front bumper. I noticed it when I went to collect the car and refused to pay the bill until the body work was repaired.
The above was just pants driving, your damage is down to stupidity and bad training. Very annoying!

Took car back into garage yesterday and explained the problem.

Owner came out and checked car then went and spoke to mechanics who had worked on the car. Neither mechanic apparently noticed any damage when working on the car. I explained that car had not been used since coming back from garage and that damage couldn't possibly have been done by another car due to location of damage.

Straight away the garage owner said they would sort it. The owner has a body shop about half a mile away and I just need to book it and and they will fix it.

Will keep you posted.

Glad to hear its getting sorted without the hassle that normal goes with this situation.

Yeah they are a good bunch of guys there. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they genuinely didn't realise that they had damaged the car and so didn't tell me.

I've taken both mine and swmbo's cars there for few years now and always had good service and no problems.
