Oil leak
Sorry its me again, Just drove my newly aquired secondhand 75 and noticed it has an oil leak predominately drivers side and to the front of the car, any ideas or is there a general weakness in 75s and oil leaks that I need to be aware of? can someone also advise me what the bleeping is when I switch off the car ignition there are no lights to indicated a warning. Thanks for any advise

First thing to do check is if you've got an undertray fitted. Then try and identify what the "oil" is, (engine, steering rack, gearbox)
|
David has pointed to where to start with fluid leak.
When you say bleeping when switching off do you mean a single bleep or multiple? |
its a double or maybe treble bleep the stops
|
There is no oil tray fitted, and as I have said it is at front of car at the drivers side, there are no obvious leaks looking down from under the bonnet, could it be thr dreaded cylinder head casket.
|
Not had that one before, reason I asked is because very often when switching off people squeeze the key fob thus operating one or other of the buttons. That causes a single beep.
Multiple beeps? Anybody any idea? |
Can you determine whether it is actually engine oil or another fluid, front offside is power steering reservoir and washer bottle reservoir.
Head gasket, you would have experienced loss of coolant and mayonnaise under the oil filler cap. Very unusual on V6 |
Right just checked it again it is 3 distinct and seperate double beeps after the key has been removed from the igition
