Ladies & gentlemen,

December 2018: as some of you will remember this was the period that I proudly presented my very first Rover 75 dreamcar.

Now, almost 2 years later, I have noticed something strange happens to people who enthusiastically own a Rover 75. For example…normally after a good night sleep, first thing in the morning one get’s a good cup of tea and enjoys breakfast. Not a Rover 75 owner; they first need to have a proper look through the window to look at their beauty to assure themselfs everything is ok with her. A daily ritual. Also applicable to the evening btw….

More things are slowly developing in these people: for instance, the need to make her in perfect condition, which results in buying all kind of valeting stuff, washing and waxing her again…and again…and again. (Come on birds, please fly around our cars, not over them)…reading a lot of how-to’s on a extremely specialised and friendly forum....repairing small and big things themselfs, get in contact with like-minded people etc.

And ofcourse, taking her for a proper weekly drive, realizing what a joy this is and hoping to receive some compliments again from those blessed or not blessed with these beauties.

It is not only that, somehow, in these peoples brains, thougths are being developed how it would be to have more than one 75. After all, there are some stunning other examples you have seen in the meanwhile…and alone is only, so why not have a look at those car-sites again?

This, of course, involves some considerations and conversations with the wife, but is all well worth it (you hope). And than, finally after hours and hours of searching again, she is there. Invitingly she is shining from the computerscreen and shouts: “buy me… buy me”...

Then you fall for the temptation and at a moment you realise that you have just bought your second Rover 75. So: here is my 12-2004 2.5 V6 Connie SE automatic with only 36 K miles behind the wheels. Proud again.

Great colour, great interior and although dealer advertised as superb condition throughout, it needs some work like changing a broken rear parkingsensor, fixing the backlight seals, renewing a shannontube etc. But, nothing serious and she drives great and looks very good.

Now, the story continues…time is a strange thing, and so is timing. This is also the case in the subsequent situation. Not even a week after closing the deal for the second one, a message pops up at my forum inbox. Having had contact about “her” for a long time, but actually not having hope for ‘her” anymore, I went on the look for another one. This because I could imagine letting “her” go would be hard for everybody so chances would be small to ever own “her”.

Luckely, this new message once again revealed hope! Could this be the opportunity for me? After all, she is the most exclusive one…

Sometimes things come your way that you shouldn't let go of. In this light I continued to have good conversations about “her” with this gently forum member resulting in serious thoughts.
After consulting my lovely wife (she is the best) about these thoughts again, we were able to finally made a pleasent deal about “her”. This has been resulting in a last weeks delivery of my third and exclusive Rover 75 which I proudly present here. The Duchess becoming Dutchess.

What a sophisticated colour combination, what a beautiful lines and what a great condition. A real feast for the eye and the heart. A joy to see, a joy to drive and a joy to ad her to my special collection. Many thanks to our fellow member Allegroboi for giving me this opportunity and to take care of her so well those years. It was my pleasure to deal with you. She has found a new and proper home where she will be treated with the upmost respect.

BTW, did I mention that Moonstone Green, White Gold and Dorchester Red are looking very, very fine next to each other?

Congratulations on buying another beauty, it's great to see our cars cherished in such a manner.
There are many superb examples of our great cars amongst our members in our club.
It's so true, my 75 is the first thing I check on each morning, and the last thing I check at night.
Washing the car is an absolute duty, I can't stand seeing him in a dirty state, and don't get me going on when I see a HGV hurtling towards me on the road spraying muck and **** everywhere. A lot of cursing takes place.
How dare they !!

Lovely car, always fancied a Japanese spec Dorchester but few around, don't think I would be allowed another 75. got a Copperleaf and Moonstone so already 1 too many.

I will watch for 75's (as I always do) on the highway with a man sitting in "the passenger seat" with a great big grin on his face and then I'll know it to be you :D


By the way: If you happen to meet a Starlight Silver R75 or a XPower Grey ZT-T on the highway with a guy in the driver's seat with an equally big grin, it will probably be me :D

Ah lovely to see that my old Dorchester Red Japanese Spec 75 is going well and still being pampered, and now has a new life in Holland!
