fuel filter
 

was wondering about the location of the fuel filter in the petrol 75s and its function ie if the filter being immersed in the passenger side tank is sucking in fuel or is it feed wholly by the fuel pump.
Interested as i was wondering if you bypassed the filter and direct connected the fuel line and then put an in line filter in the fuel line under the bonnet if that would work.
Be alot easier to change filters!

Don't mess about with the petrol filter Peter except to tighten the casing and fit the 'orange' clip if you have the later design. Certainly don't attempt any modifications. There are better ways of injecting excitement into your life! :D

It doesn't need changing often enough to warrant what you are planning to do.

There's no service schedule for petrol filters which are a lifetime fit in normal circumstances. The submerged filter module (which contains the filter element) does more than filter the fuel. It moderates fuel delivery pressure to the engine and contains a special static pump that helps to keep each side of the tank balanced with fuel. These are sophisticated machines.
