E10 Petrol
Dear All
I have had an issue with poor starting on my KV6 from cold, it has been suggested that E10 petrol might be the culprit, has anyone else experienced issues since the change? Best wishes to all, Bob Walker |

Triumph 2.5 s6 - yes, some hot start and running-on issues. Nearly always use Esso Supreme 99?+ E5. So, a very mixed bag! Kev |
No Bob, it's nothing to do with E10. According to the ACEA all Land Rover engines since 1996 (including the KV6) are compatible with it.

Thank you
Hi Simon
I will investigate further and report back. Bob |
My 2.5KV6 is quite happy with E10, with no problems so far, performance unaffected!

Though we've had reports on here 'from the inside of Rover', debunking the official nonsense of E10 not suitable for the 75, and I went along with that information, I did find that I had (new) problems starting on E10. (Just to add, my KV6 is lpg converted, so it starts on petrol from cold, changing to gas within 1/2 mile, or quicker if warm).
I rarely put petrol in, it is weeks/sometimes months before I need to. The tank was below 1/4 full so I topped up, probably to 3/4, with E10, and the poor starting when cold began. It also tried to stall as I came out of the drive and pulled away. Suddenly it would became normal then, and ok when starting from warm. When I got down to 1/4 tank again, I put in Tesco Super. It did improve a lot, though obviously was mixed with the remaining E10. I have since filled up again with Super, with more improvement. No more E10 for me! I'm off the road with cambelt failure (see my other thread) at the moment so I can't report any further on this. |
My Briggs and Stratton lawn mower will have no expense spared on its annual gallon of 5 star!!!:D Plus a shot of Redex of course!;)

My 2.0 kv6 actually seems to like the E10 . I use the Shell version .
No problems at all :} |

(By the way I'm having no issues at all running the ZT-T 190 on E10). :D |
