Auto
I have had a search and cant find anything, I have just brought an auto and it moves along at idle is this normal.
I know you can get some movement but this seems quite fast. |
Unless you apply the brakes then a car with an automatic box will move if the drive in engaged. I have never had an auto that did not do this so yes it is normal.

Yep, all auto's creep, life's a pain innit... lol..

Yes, they all creep, and it makes them a doddle to park in a tight space!
|
whats your rpm .
should be around 750. but as above all move a little bit |
If left on a level road mine gains enough speed to change up and do about 15-20 mph on tick over. Quite normal.

Yes plods along in drive but very useful in slow moving or stop start traffic, with your foot over the break of course ;)

Great isnt it!
It will even hold the car stationary on a hill. Needless to say I do not miss my manual one jot...:D |
That said hired a Seat MPV for work last week and that thing even in drive wouldn't hold on a slight incline, with one of those electronic hand brakes not a pleasant car to drive at all.
Acceleration on pulling away however light resulted in front wheel spin and to cap it all had a bad back after sitting in its transit van style driver seat. :( |
