Help to reset my service counter
 

My First Thread

I had a service done on my car on sat. Spent the whole on Sunday trying to reset it.

Any way just been out to have another go and I have just realised that the little clock sign I had b4 has gone but the counter has not been changed.

Does that mean that I have to wait another £1000 miles b4 I can have another go at resetting it?

As I read that you can’t reset the service counter again for 1000 miles.

As if i started shorting the counter but did not hold it down long enough?

Hello Alex persistance is the name of the game, timing is critical. The paperclip method is very awkward, two lengths of wire. so you can sit back and play once they are firmly inserted in to the connector. I had to play with mine for about half an hour before I got it right the first time out.
I don't think there is a time or mileage limit on resetting.

No doubt I will be shot down in flames if I'm wrong.

If all else fails you can borrow my pukka reset tool if you want Alex

iirc none of it should stop you having another go. The clock sign references the brake fluid doesn't it?

I had the brake fluid changed about a year ago. But the counter was never reset.

I been reading and reading that help page mike but I have tried 10000's of times. But nothing.

I am using too lengths of wire, so easy enough to do.

I did manage to do it 15k ago so I know it works on my car etc.

What one is it?

What do you have to do with it? - is it fool proof?

Well...it's Paul proof Alex ;)

You plug it into the OBC socket, let it do a self-diagnostic (a few seconds) and then press the button appropriate for the service interval you want to reset, then you unplug it - Job Done.
