Aftermarket nav systems.

I had a Navall in my previous 75 which I’m now regretting leaving innrhe car when I sold it to my mate, as it now appears that reading between the lines It all blew up with RadioGuy, and reading the UCE forum most of the Chinese stuff either doesn’t fit properly or there’s other issues.
What is the consensus now of the best solution for a reliable Nav/Bluetooth/music set up please ?
And if anyone has a decent one for sale let me know please !

I use an Xtrons android unit. Works well and fits fine.

I've been looking at changing the thing I have in my car.
Now, do I spend about £500 on a quality item such as pioneer, kenwood etc or retro fit the highline system but upgrade the headunit to a bmw 16.9 with a bm54 unit and the upgraded cd drive, or, fit a quality stereo headunit and use the phone as a sat nav.

I also looked at a Dynavin unit, more favoured amongst the bmw fraternity, not cheap and also not without its problems, however they do offer a 2 year no nonsense guarantee with it.

A minefield, literally.

For how often you would need a sat nav using the phone seems logical to me. Also using Google maps is more accurate than my normal nav tbh.

I think we’ve been fooled into thinking we need a multi use tool in one basket.
The cost of using mobile data for sat nav use against a device which has it for free probably pays a large part in determining what we buy.

Thanks,
Is there a recommended chap in here nowadays to buy from or better still to fit them?

The Xtrons ones come with all the leads you need to make it plug and play. I downloaded Sygic maps onto to it so no data needed. You will need to clip the plastic lugs off at the top of the unit but other than that it fills the gap nicely and works well. Being an android you can download other apps from the playstore as you would your phone. If you want to use google maps you can always tether your phone to it for livedata. Xtrons direct are probably your best bet at mo as there is no one selling them in the club at mo.

Looks like the below fitted ..

Many thanks for that.
Is this the unit where there was many discussions about it protruding out rather than fitting snugly ?

Can't say i've seen the company before but similar specs to mine except the cd/dvd drive so should perform ok but of course buyer beware with unknown quatities.
