Cigar lighter woes
Seems to be the week for jammed panels :(
The cover for my cigar lighter socket is jamming. When pushed, it drops until the top edge is about 10mm out and refuses to go further. I can't see any obvious causes. Any ideas please? |

I'd remove the whole assembly if required but I cannot see the reason why it is jammed. |
I've had this out now and STILL cannot discover where the problem is :(

I now have exactly the same problem, Paul.
Did you ever get yours sorted? |
There is a small cog that locks off in each direction, they have a small amount of grease to aid their function. From my experience after pulling it out to replace the cigar lighter bulb, I found that the grease had deteriorated and was covered in dust/muck. After a clean up and re-lube it now works fine.
Hope the info is of some use. |
Thanks Nisfro - I'll give it a go.

I never got round to it. Too much trouble to remove the whole fitment I suppose :( Especially when I have a perfectly adequate power socket under the arm-rest. I really should sort it out though. |
