rover 75 diesel water pump
hi to all
my question is at what mileage should the water pump be changed |

I don't think there is a mileage, change it if it starts to squeal or leaks for some reason, not the stat leaking but if you are going to change the stat then maybe think about doing the water pump at the same time, but until then never heard of a mileage date. |
They're 'fit for life' - that is, they should only be changed when they fail.
I'm still on my original at over 200,000 miles; they're a very reliable part. :) If yours is leaking, we have them here - made by a UK company (Mark Pumps of Wales) - https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...102470-premium We also have a kit with Thermostat included: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...2470-pel100570 |

A very good question David. It is not a service item and as mentioned is designed to last the lifetime of the car. Mine lasted just shy of 300k miles and the replacement lasted less than 60k miles, so better to stick with the original for as long as possible, and replace with a genuine part and not an aftermarket one if you are keeping the car long term and clocking up the miles. . |
Pretty sure mine is still on the original at 204k.
