Auto Express - Future Classics.

Recent copy of the magazine has their selection for future classics. The Rover 75 is there and James Batchelor one of the journalist is the owner of a 2001 Solar Red MGZT 160+. He purchased it recently, he says it's a peach and has FSH and only 64000 miles.

That is good to hear :} but I can't imagine many ZT's or 75's will left by the time they reach true classic status, the strict MOT guidelines will see to that; 20 more years will see further changes. :getmecoat:

All the old 40+ classics that are around today didn't face all these strict guidelines, plus the cars were so much easier to repair and maintain; that's what has kept them on the roads all this time. :shrug:

I hope I'm wrong.

I agree with Dallas, were are down to 20,000 R75 cars and dropping at 8000 per year, and with NO T4 and technical support going forward most normal owners will let them slip away.

down to 4000 within the next 2/3 years at best.:mad:

I believe the majority of prestige classic cars tend to be Roadsters/Sport Cars, they seem more desirable to the classic car movement. ;)

When it comes to modern day classic cars such as ours, owners are going to find them incredibly expensive to maintain as the years go by; but the Roaster will get favoured as it always has done... :}

I advise anyone to go out and buy a Roadster. ;)

Iconic photos from the POL of 2015 and happy memories. At the POL was James Batchelor who poured over my V6, noting down the vin number. He was there with a mate and both of were excited in discovering the V6 was still on the road. I found him to be an OK guy and an enthusiast, an approachable gentleman. I will keep a look out for the Auto Express, many thanks for that.

James was at Beaulieu last weekend, I should have got both our ZT's together for a photo shoot. Obviously my Y plate is slightly better being a 190+ :D

James 160+.
