South West Vehicle Auctions- Classic Honda Motorbikes

These look exceptional

All part of a one man collection where sadly the owner has died.

As well as some exceptional early ones - there is a South African CBR1000 :drool4:

Auction is on 26th April at 10:45

It will be interesting to see what the 1966 CB450K0 Black Bomber goes for.

I had a 1967 one and the actual bike, that I owned, is currently for sale on eBay for £12,995.

I sold it for about £180 in 1977. :duh:

Take it you mean the CBX1000, I don't like the styling, presumably for the SA market with the high bars and naff decals on the side panels.

Liked the CBX, sounded like a jet turbine but never wanted to own one, balancing the six carbs was a major undertaking.

Yes, lots of work on those engines, but six open pipes does sound spectacular

Yes, the front and rear mudguards were painted silver, matching the side panels. The front brake was a twin leading shoe. :drool4: :D

The engine was technically advanced for its day.
It had double overhead camshafts, twin carbs and used torsion bars instead of valve springs. It was red-lined at 9,500 rpm.
Even had electric start. ;) :}
