Drivers Door Swap

In readiness for POL i shall be swapping the door of the breaker on to the S plate (very badly bent and buckled and unrepairable), they are the same colour code if not a perfect match but will get painted in the future.

I take it theres nothing special to worry about, I see some 13mm hinge bolts top and bottom, the 10mm for the check strap and a case of just feeding the wires back through?

Cheers!

no need to touch the hinge bolts just take off the circlips on top off the pins. undo the check strap it helps if you have window open so you have someware to get hold of it.then lift the door up.the wiring plug can only be got at after the doors has been lifted away a bit.so it helps to have two pairs of hands.rest the door on a spare wheel while you helper unplugs it.some thin foam can help prevent damage to you new door .when putting it back on there is not much room between the door and the wing.you need it close to connect the wiring back up,apart from that quite straight forward:}

Tim link below, once you have the door off lie it flat on a soft surface ie some towels etc, it is easier to change the door wiring over than when the door is on the car.

Cheers guys,

If I dont the power folds wont work? (they dont work anyway as both motors are shot lol.

I may just plug and play for now as im short of time for POL, I will need to be changing the door locks over anyway and they are blinking fiddly!

the loom will only take half an hour... it contains the extra 2 wires needed... pain to do with the door on the car... may as well do it now
