Which Door Mirrors?
Can anyone tell me whether this is a bullet type mirror or not?
As you can see it's had a hefty whack from a shopping trolley (or another car) so I'm thinking of buying some powerfolds or, failing that, some new covers. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/simonw |
Hi Simon,
Yes that is the bullet type mirror. hth Mike |
That's the bullet type. I've got power fold mirrors on my 75 they are very useful, it's tight under my car port and it also helps prevent car park scuffs such as you've suffered at the hands of some careless clot. John

new oem bullet covers at smc 4.99.. check if they have your colour on ebay shop
|
Thanks Mike and John. Is the bullet type the more recent one?
How much extra clearance do you get with the powerfolds John? Pondweed: I tried the £4.99 eBay seller and he does have Zircon Silver. He doesn't seem to have any for the passenger side though - they're all driver's side. |
The bullet mirrors are the originals, not later.

The link posted are the later mirror back not the bullet type backs which were the original mirror backs

That rules them out then. Curses
Btw, SMC have some chrome ones on eBay - £24.99 if anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=130044848537 |
most of smcs painted stock are early bullets.. just check the VINs are "up to......" rather than "from...." Incidentally, tourers had bullets fitted much later than in the suggested application list on smc's listings. mine is 248100 and still has early mirrors.
