ULEZ's!

I was talking to a mate I used to work with on another forum last night & he's a owner driver now with a Class1 outfit, he's got deliveries in London today so it's going to cost him £100 + the congestion charge for his delivery today.

He said I wont be taking any more inner London deliveries on in future.

London is just the start! check out how many local authorities are implementing a ULEZ and how many the government have told them to do so. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer...470704841&z=11

What sane person would want to drive into that god forsaken hole to start with,
it is another money making scam because Khan knows deliveries have to be made to that part of the city.

Both the Bear and Banana are ok, but I’ll be able to take Redfive back up to London from 2021

According to the link in the OP, for Leeds it only applies to HGV, PSV and taxi/private hire drivers.
It will not apply to private car drivers

I heard the same a while ago, but no doubt in time it will include private cars as well..

According to their on-line Vehicle checker :smilie_re: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/che...-vehicle-35896

My 2002 2.5 V6 Rover 75 Auto will have to pay the new charge, but
My 2002 2.5 V6 ZTT 190 manual won’t, nor
My 2004 2.5 V6 ZT 180 Auto either, nor
My 2004 4.6 V8 ZT 260?

So note to self, don’t take the Rover anymore, but the identical engined and higher tuned MG V6s and big old V8 guzzler are fine :propeller:

jonno12 8th April 2019 19:18

and of course everything will go up because the delivery firms won't be able to swallow all the increase, but never mind all the rest of the world will also suffer the same problems.

Well, as far as I'm aware, to be exempt from the ULEZ charge petrol vehicles have to be Euro 4 & diesel Euro 6.
So l don't see how any 75 will be exempt. My '02 1.8 certainly isn't.

I think there are still issues with the checker system.

RoyalBlue75 8th April 2019 20:02

The petrol cars should all be ok as long as they were certified to the Euro 3 standard. That means Y reg or later.

How is that you ask? The reason is that the TFL scheme actually checks for compliance with the Euro 4 NoX standard, not literally Euro 4 certification. The NoX figure for the vehicles falls within the Euro 4 level, thank goodness!

Both our 51 reg V6s are compliant according to the TFL checker. Phew!

Unfortunately it’s bad news for the diesel Rovers and the early petrols if they preceded the Euro 3 standard and consequently have no recorded NoX figure.

Strange the a new V12 Aston Martin does not have to pay, BUT a 15 year old Honda 50 (that will do approx. 150 MPG) does have to pay.
