When was it made?

I decided back in November 2007 I wanted a new Rover 75, so I found one, a 2.5 V6 Connoisseur. Trouble is I don't actually know when it was made as none of the Rover documentation tells me. The cam belts may be due for renewal on time soon, so it would be good to know how old it actually is! VIN number is SARRJSLLM5D342782.
Anybody there got a production list that can help?
Thanks, Robin.

Only details I can com up with is:

VIN:SARRJSLLM5D342782, MG Rover, Rover 75 and MG ZT, Class 3.1, 4 Door Saloon, Normal Aspiration, V6, 24V, MPi, 177PS, Standard Performance, Petrol, 2500 cc, K Series, 5 Speed, RHD, Automatic, Model Year: 2005, S/N: 342782

Quite often dated Parts on trim etc can help to.
I am sure our "specialists" on these things will be along later.

Check out the 'how to' section for your FAQ's ;)

Using this how to tell you your car was built 2005 (so up to March/April):

Thanks chaps, that's a big help. I thought it was actually 2004 so it's good to know I have a bit of leeway. How many 57 reg Rovers are out there?

You can probably count the numbers on one hand. Very very rare.

At least one other, possibly with a later reg. When looking I found two new and unregistered examples, a gold diesel in Contempary trim in Cornwall and the one I bought. The diesel would have been far better suited to my purposes but the garage were not being exactly realistic about the price and wanted close to £20k for it. I paid a great deal less for the one I bought and then converted it to LPG and still saved many thousands. It may even be possible that gold diesel is still there, although I'm not sue a car that's been parked up for four years would be a good buy.....

So I was right--2004 it is. Better do the cam belts by the October next year, then.....
