Rusted rear wheel arch
My first bit of work on the 75 though I might as well start sorting it out so sanding it down ready for primer for when I learn how to spray cars at College any tips would help a lot the paint has surface rust and as I’m sanding it down finding more and more rust under the pain

You'll have to keep sanding until ALL rust is gone. Otherwise it'll pop through the fresh paint in no time. Don't drive around too long with just the filler on it though as it will absorb moisture. You don't want to start over.
So get the metal clean. Apply filler. Sand it down perfectly. Apply primer, sand it down with 600 grid. Sand (1500 grid) the good paint around the affected area so you can blend in the new paint and add new layers of clear coat. |
As I said on Facebook Thomas, get the wheel arch liner off, the bumper off and the wheel.
Give yourself plenty of room to work and clean everything, behind, underneath etc. When you have it clean, do it all again to be sure, only then can you start to remove the rust then treat the metal with rust killer before filling. |

Let's hope you find some solid metal under there. Doesn't look too good unfortunately.

Did it to check for faults as I struggled to find the faults so it was entirely intentionalhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...355d4b7483.jpg
