Audio Guys - Earbuds....

Hi all

Could do with a half decent set of ear canal type buds.

A few years ago I bought from eBay a set of Sennheiser CX something or other, which looked a bit like this.

I did have doubts as to whether they were genuine or not, as they weren't expensive.

However the sound quality is pretty good, better than others I have heard.

So without spending more than £20 is there anything decent to be had?

Would prefer the cable to be asymmetrical with an angled plug if possible and made to avoid issues with microphonics, as the rustling/rubbing noise when walking annoys me.

My son has skull candy ones which seem pretty good, difficult to recommend without having used what they are being compared with :) not sure if the plug is angled either so potentially a useless post :getmecoat: sorry

Thanks for reply.

Sounds like a lot of the Skull Candy ones seem to die within months, though that might just be the rough treatment the youth give them.

My daughter killed her headphones, when plugged into her iPad as she used to constantly play with the cable by the jack plug. The in ear ones however seemed to have survived ok, or at least I haven't been accosted for money to replace any of them yet :D saying that there not terribly expensive and under your £20 limit iirc

The ones you have pictured are CX-300 II's and are probably the best available for the money and can be had for £20-£30.

The Denons in that price range are absolutely fantastic.

Can be had from John Lewis.

There is a pair of Pioneers too that are amazing for £10 but unfortunately they sell a different set of headphones in the UK with the same product code that are god awful. the ones I got were from Dubai.

I've just had a pair of JVC extreme explosive earbuds from Argos. I paid £15 on offer but they are back up to £25 and they're awesome. Well worth the money. They're on par with my mates £100 beats.

hi

i looked at some Sennheiser ones when i bought some but in the end bought some Soundmagic E10's. I have to say that i am not dissapointed. They cost just over £35 on Amazon. I bought my daughter some Beats by Dre which are no where near as good.
I think you can get them for around £30 if you shop around and are worth going over your budget.

Yes, get the Sennheiser ones again.
Skull Candy, Beats etc. are fashion objects and not that good or reliable. Don't know the Denons mentioned, they would be worth trying.

Another vote for the Sennheisers! I'm on my third set and they sound as good as others at three times the price.
