Service Interval Reset Tool
I've recently serviced my 2005 CDTi but I have lost the reset tool I got from eze for a previous car which was essentially a couple of bits of bent wire set in a lump of resin, but it worked fine
So I decided to treat myself to an OBD2 gadget from Ebay (from China). I tried it. when plugged in the lights flash, then all three remain on, I switched on the ignition & pressed the button but the (-1120) service interval didn't reset. Once pressed the other two of the lights go out then the three lights flash in sequence indicating that the reset is successful. Any ideas? am I doing something wrong or should I search for some paperclips? |
You sometimes have to repeat the process for some reason with these Chinese tools.

Must have tried it about 10 times this afternoon, didn't budge

Search for Phil-T4's free 'IPK Changer' software download. It's on the forum somewhere. All you need is a cheap diagnostics lead (eBay) and you can do the service screen reset as well as various other mind-boggling things. You can also run the TOAF program with the same lead.

I bought the Gunson one and it wouldn't reset until below a certain number of miles was showing. Don't know why?

I don't think you can reset it above 1000 miles

These are the instructions I downloaded from a ebay site that sells the re-set boxes .....
Read the last comment, I've had to do this most times to get a successful re-set. Service Indicator Re-Set Tool. How to use: ²Plug the Device into the OBD2 socket of the car. ²All LED`s will blink and then stay on. ²Turn ignition key to enable the board electronics but don`t start the engine. ²Press the button for the operation you want to perform for 1 second. ²The LED of the chosen operation will light and the other LED`s will be off. ²LED`s will perform a light chain which means the reset is done. ²Sometimes it is necessary to do an inspection reset before an oil reset. |
