He was a excellent time keeper... He once said.. "It's the drummer's job to make the other guys sound good."...

I watched the documentary about him when it was on TV a couple of weeks ago. It was aptly called "Beware of Mr Baker".

There were some real Jaw dropping moments..........including the young reporter returning to his car with blood pouring from his nose after being attacked by Ginger using his walking stick.

Documentary trailer - be warned there is loud swearing in the trailer, so be careful when opening the link

Yes indeed, from an era when musicians actually could not only play an instrument, but their very ability to play defined the art, today's so called musicians are NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- that is why music is dead.
May he rest in peace, time to revisit the legenday live concert Cream played at Albert Hall, 1968, listen and admire.!

And Clapton's demise won't be a moment too soon.
At the pub in the village where he lives, the locals all drink up & go home when he turns up with his guitar.
Ginger Baker on the other hand was a big bloke & absolutely terrifying. I saw him play with Hawkwind, during a short phase when they called themselves Hawklords.
