Pride Of Longbridge # 8 (13/04/13) Attendance Register
 

While at the NEC Classic Motor Show this year, the club was approached by John Baker the chairman of The Austin & Longbridge Federation and invited once again to attend the Pride Of Longbridge Rally opposite the MG Motors Factory in Birmingham.

For those that don't know, the event is now in its 8th year and commemorates the closure of MG Rover Group at the Longbridge site.

Just as last year, we will have an area for parking set aside for members to use and we'll be there to spread the word on all things 75 & ZT. We are also permitted this year to open the club shop for anyone wishing to buy club items.

Last year we had in excess of 100 club cars turning up and we represented the 75 & ZT models well. The event is free, so why not come along and pay tribute to 100 years of car production at the 'Austin' factory.

To get an idea of the numbers coming this year, please post a reply in this thread and we will update the list for the organisers to keep track of.

We will have some blank name stickers available on the day for you to write your forum names on too, just come and find a club 'Green' :)

Hi Julien, we will have an area set aside for the club so you can park up along side all the other 75 and ZTs from our club. Usually it is easier and less fuss for everyone concerned if you are parked in the order that you arrive, rather than having a ZT section, 75 section, tourers etc.

Of course should you wish to park anywhere else at the field away from the club's designated patch, fill your boots, however the organisers parking marshals may direct you to go in a particular place :shrug:

I think you must have misunderstood.I am more than happy to mingle, so it was an area for Rover members from all over the country, and not seperate regional area,s, thats all I was asking. And Reebs I take it personally that you would think I did not want to park with the rest of you ,and I should fill my boots as you put it.

Sorry Julien, your question wasn't clear to me so I attempted to cover all bases with my reply. It seems that I have offended in the process and I apologise if that is the case, I certainly wasn't trying to suggest you were not happy with parking at the club stand, so sorry if I gave that impression in my answer. Oh, the joys of non verbal communication :nastypc:

To clarify then, our 'patch' will not be divided into regional or model specific sections, all are welcome to mingle and park amongst each other.

The point I was trying to make was that there may well be some 75 / ZT owners attending who are not members of the owners club, so could have the choice to park where they wished in the field (ALF Marshals dependent of course). Our posts here are read by upwards of 200 guests every day, so it is information for these folk more than anything else really.

Obviously it goes without saying that any non-member who wishes to park their 75 or ZT in our designated area is more than welcome :grouphug:

I personally am looking forward to catching up with you as I was unable to attend the Frog & Wicket meet last Sunday. I hope that better clarifies what I was trying (unsuccessfully) to say :o

i really am sad i missed the first :( i just didn't know about it i think i had just got the 45 about then. a very sad day but a worthy day that i wish i had seen. but i've done all but one since and the last couple had both the 75 and mgf along :}

If DVLA decide I'm still fit to drive !! I will be there for POL day but prob not for the cosford run, its a real pain having to reapply for licence every 3 years takes me back to the early days again !!!

I seem to have missed something re Cosford on the Sunday, could somebody please let me know what's happening, I feel like a lost sheep lol:shrug:

The event that's being held at Cosford is being run by another group and as such is nothing to do with us.

As it was such a stunning event I will of course be there in 2013.
