On The Subject of Aliens

Apparently, there are over one billion stars in our galaxy; it's estimated that there are over one billion galaxies.

Each star has the possibility of planets orbiting it.

Is it really likely that we, Mankind, are the most intelligent thing that exists? yet, if a Being from another world is able to get to Earth, then is that Being not more intelligent than us?

For those that ponder, over on pistonheads they have a fabulous science section that never ceases to amaze. Some very clever and knowledgeable people.

I find this stuff all very fascinating, they say earth is 4.543 billion years old, and there are over a billion stars and a billion galaxies. Scientists search for aliens and UFO's using radio waves, but radio has only been around for 100 years :getmecoat: we are so primitive, of course there are aliens out there. ;)

We ourselves could even be the aliens.

To quote from the galaxy song in Monty Python's "Meaning of Life", "pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, "cause there's bugr all down here on Earth".

Would it be wise to presume that the English language would be the means of communication in the event of any contact.

:smilie_re: And what if they are meat eaters. On what moral grounds could we possibly complain if they did to us what we do to other critters. :frightened:
