Rescue a Cowley Car Anyone?

I was approached by a neighbour last week who called around in his sisters car. She lives in Germany, and has decided to dispose of it as it's not really being used over here any more and is taking up space in his garage.

I'm not selling it, but merely offering to put anyone interested in contact, so I hope this will be OK here.

It's a Cowley built car, first registered in April 2000. It's a 2.0L auto in red with black cloth trim. MOT runs until 30th.March 2021. I couldn't find the identity badge with the model designation, but it's got foglights so I'm guessing its a Club SE?

All four tyres are good, there is a rub on the front bumper which may poolish out, and it's only done 56K miles with a reasonable service history.
All the upholstery is in good nick.

Some photo's here - it's got a Birmingham Registration Number and was supplied by Edwards which was a dealership owned by John Edwards I think.

It's living near Warwick, and if anyone is interested drop me an email and I will give you a contact telephone number.

Seems too good to scrap.

That Reg number doesn't inspire confidence !

Nice, low mileage Club SE in Copperleaf - can't be too many Cowley cars left with sensible mileage like that. Did your man give a ballpark figure on price ? :}

Very nice and clean looking how much please

Thanks to Jeremy (Jezzer1) it now resides in sunny Tewkesbury as a partner for my diesel :D
I will get the belts, water pump and a new metal thermostat housing done soon at College Motors
(will ring them tomorrow to see when they can do it). VIS motors may a need refurb (need a new battery in my tester),
but I know a man who can :D.
It did feel like they were not working on the drive back home.

Well done to both of you, great to see one being saved and kept on the road due to this club and it's members ;) :}

Well done Dave. I guess the owner of my old car was not taking a cheeky low offer then?
It has not appeared on EBay again yet. Might have sold?

He did sell it Vic, a day before the lockdown was eased but I couldn't justify a drive down there. He wouldn't hang on to it as he needed the space.

Front bumper changed for a Cowley copperleaf one I had spare, VIS motors changed for a good pair (both duff)
goes much better now. Going to College Motors on June 4th for full service, cambelts and water pump.
Hopefully have the metal Kaiser thermostat housing by then to be done at the same time.
I will put a few pics up after I've touched up a few scratches and run the DA polisher over it.
