Rover 75 T 2003 Clutch Question
 
Can someone just confirm

Has my car got a cable clutch or Hydraulics.????

It is a hydraulic set up Bill. The master cylinder is tucked up above the clutch pedal.

That answers the question I was wondering where it was.

So it cant be adjusted ???

No it cant that I am aware of. What is the problem, we may be able to offer some advice?

clutch slip
 
I have just noticed that it slips in high gear from 3rd to 4th just slightly..pulls away in 1/ 2 ok....had a new clutch 54 k ago 2015..

Might get some more use from it if I nurse it along..

The slipping is either due to wear on the clutch plate, it is seizing on the splines due to no grease being applied when the clutch was last replaced, weakening or broken diaphragm spring or contamination of the drive plate by oil leaking past the drive shaft seal.

Haven't come across the last two on our cars mind. :}

Could also be a leaking slave cylinder. Check the level in the master cylinder (pain in the rear due to location and there is a floppy rubber seal in the top) or check for fluid around the bottom of the bell housing/gearbox area. The smell will tell you if it's gear oil or clutch fluid.

Slipping Clutch
 
Hi Guys what the going rate for a normal straight forward replacement clutch.

Has anyone heard of Williams replacement clutch service. ????

Or any recommendations around the Middlesex/berks/bucks area
