Wanted - batter cover + boot plinth
Hi,
Has anyone got a battery cover for sale. Also after a chrome booth plinth, the type with ROVER written across it. I do already have a boot plinth but the lugs are snapped. Has anyone ever succeeded with a repair on these? Many thanks, Jim |
seen a battery cover on e bay for about 15 quid

Yes, I saw that. I think it starts at £15. Might bid but certainly won't spend more than that.

If its the PPD Mk1 boot plinth that you're after, Holland314 has one on offer in the "items for sale" section. He's also a good bet for a battery cover.

Thanks yes, £15.74. Not a bad price.

A quick update. Boot plinth repaired. I drilled out a hole where there was a plastic dowel. I've then screwed in a stainless steel bolt with a filed down head. I might superglue in this bolt for extra strength. Not a bad repair.
I'll get a battery cover from Rimmers. One question though. I've owned two 75's and neither had a battery cover. Why is this? Do people change the battery and forget to refit or do they somehow fall off? |
Going by some battery covers I've seen, I'd say first the clip edges are snapped 1 by 1 then it won't stay on and eventually gets binned. Engine bay just looks wrong without it though. Lee.

Don’t think that they fall off, but sometimes replacement batteries are not of the correct type and the cover no longer fits.
