Pin Mill
Yesterday I went over to Pin Mill.
This place was made famous by Arthur Ransome as one of the settings for his series of books 'Swallows & Amazons' It is on the River Orwell very near to Ipswich and within sight of the Orwell Bridge. Had a lovely lunch at the Butt&Oysrter pub overlooking the river and then took a visit to see the well known Ship Graveyard there. Unfortunately the tide was out the time we were there so I am definitely going to go back to take some more photos of the wrecks when they are partially submerged. Here is one I took of the wrecks... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0820c579_h.jpgPin Mill by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr And this is the view towards the Orwell Bridge a short walk from the wrecks... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...62e272a3_h.jpgPin Mill by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr |
