never ending
 

Right now it seems never ending.
started with a faulty clutch, moved on to D rubbers which I knew about on rear anti roll bar only to find rusty near side upper arm that has to be replaced and now while replacing off side upper arm I have found a snapped spring.

On the bright side, I have spare D rubbers, upper arms and springs and have fitted a new clutch master cylinder which may have solved the clutch issue.

I do still have a problem, the car is in the garage, in the air with rear suspension in bits and is now in the way of the "loft". I'm not sure how to get into the "loft" of the garage to get the new springs:D

At least the wife is not giving me grief, yet

At least the clutch sounds like it is sorted Ian - that's got to be a result! :}

I hope so I really do. I have pressed and released the clutch pedal 200 times and ok so far.

managed to twist and not fall off the ladder to get the springs. Getting the top and bottom rubbers on the springs was hard work but I'm sure there is a knack to it.

I will start putting the car together tomorrow and hope no more problems surface

a bit, I did go through a short period of "I know why people get rid of these cars" but that's now behind me. Perhaps I was wicked when I was young.
I could be just one fix way from having a fault free car:D

I have time on my side and a part time job to pay for the bits. I'm learning more about the car and how to overcome things and so I can help others.
My confidence can still be knocked, the snapped stud did that but I think that's fixed, confidence gained and if anyone else has the same problem, I'll know how to fix it.

Mind you, without the forum, I'd be lost

I certainly do know how you feel Ian! - After a front end strip down to replace the alternator, fan, aircon condenser, FBH and coolant flush and replacement - and then careful reassembly with new fixings - I now have a car that charges the battery!! - where the air con works!!! - the fan comes on when it should!!!! and hopefully the FBH will fire up this winter rather than envelope me in clouds of
unburnt diesel :}

But in return for all this loving attention, the interior lights do not work and the headlight adjuster has also stoped working with the beams focusing about 2 ft in front of the car :duh:

Hopefully I’ve simply missed something on reassembling - I’ve tried resetting the interior lights for 10 seconds as suggested on here as well as battery disconnect for 30 min but no luck with the interior lights.

Hopefully a fuse is the issue.

Can anyone advise if they (interior lights/headlamp adjuster motors) are on the same circuit/fuse?

Any other suggestions most welcome.
