A very warm welcome to the world of Discount MG Rover Spares!
Welcome to my Shop - my main store is located at www.dmgrs.co.uk but I'll also update you as I go on here.
What makes you different to the other 75/ZT parts suppliers? The answer to that isn't as simple as you think - there are a number of ways I believe I offer a unique service and top-notch after sales support.
I can find the same parts cheaper elsewhere. Why can't you beat their price? All of my pricing is at the lowest I can afford to go - remember I'm only a small business for now and things like postage etc aren't as cheap as if I was a multinational enterprise. Rest assured that as I grow prices WILL fall as far as cost savings allow. Personal service, no cheap parts and low P+P costs are all reasons to use Discount MG Rover Spares for any bits you may need. Do you ship internationally? Yes, and at cracking rates! I've priced all international postage and freight at the very best price I can - no more extortionate shipping for small parts. Our European shipping starts at just £2.79! You say you're an enthusiast - do you actually own an MG Rover vehicle, and what parts do you use from your own Shop to run it if so? My MG ZT-T is pride of place on my drive, and is used for all deliveries and shop-related tasks. She is a CDTi and has many DMGRS components fitted - including top mount bearings, all service parts, a PCV filter and our finest front wheel bearings. No issues so far, and she runs like a dream. Sounds great. So tell me a bit more about the Shop, and why you chose to join The 75 and ZT Owners Club. First, a bit about me. I have a background in IT, however have always had a secret love of all things British, including cars. At 17 I bought a Ford Fiesta (1.8D, awful car to be honest!) as I was short of time. In 11 months it cost me a fortune to run, so in the end I decided to realise my dream and find a nice Rover to potter about in. As I turned 18 I treated myself to a lovely 416i on an 'R' plate (1998) and it all began from there - I've now owned several 620ti, a few Rover 75s, two MG ZTs and a smattering (5!) Rover 400s in various guises. One of my favourite MG Rover cars was the MG ZS Diesel I owned for nearly 3 years, a brilliant car. Read more about my MG ZS Diesel and ownership 'fun' here: http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/blogs/mg-zs-diesel I also documented the ownership of V81 DPG, a rather tidy 620ti. Read about ownership here: http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/blogs/got-boost-the-rover-620ti I first started selling cambelt kits 2 years ago for the Rover 25/45/ZR/ZS diesels via eBay - the official kit was well over £130 at the time, and quality of aftermarket kits was unpredictable. Using a set of carefully chosen parts I put together my own cambelt kit for the above vehicles for £89.99 - a price that is the same today! I've sold over 150 to date. That's a lot of tensioners. I realised there was a similar situation with most MG Rover service / replaceable parts - expensive and difficult to find 'off the shelf'. My solution was to start a Shop stocking the above, and I opened for the first time on the 23rd of April 2013 as Discount MG Rover Spares. Finally, I have focused on stocking as many parts as possible for the 75/ZT and joined the very knowledgeable and friendly 75 and ZT Owners Club as a Trader. I've always been on here during ownership of any 75/ZT, however I am delighted to support the forum financially too. Any questions? Please ask away. |
Great write up matt, i wish you the very best and you will be one of my first ports of call when I need a part..
Just a quick question, could you get hold of other parts, that are not on your website ie, if someone wanted a part, would you be able to get it (obviously not ultra rare parts, just general ones) |

Cheers for the feedback too. |
Hi Matty. & good luck with the shop. Was wondering if I might be able to get a crankshaft oil seal for a 1.8K series engine only couldn't find one on your website & Euro car parts don't do em. Also is that thermostat seal set the one for the back of the engine where it shoves into the water pump only mines leaking & can't seem to find one of those either
Cheers Andy |
Hi Andy, I now stock the rear crankshaft oil seals:
http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/s...seal-luf000050 I also stock the thermostat seal kits, which replace all 3 seals related to the thermostat. There is a large seal around the thermostat itself, and 2x O rings (one for each end of the housing). The kit includes them all. http://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/s...and-2x-cdu3858 I've also PM'd you this information. Thanks Mat |
