presumably the "oil temperature" parameter in live data would be out of wack if that error code is really meaning that?

Yes every single 1.8 and 1.8T throws up P1520 is an irrelevant fault, I'd be more concerned if it wasn't there ;)

Someone on here commented on the lack of a Rover 75 in the video on the Kickstarter site.
I did one tonight (badly) of Rob's ZT. I had to hold the phone with one hand and operate the laptop with the other. He was working on his MGF. Anyway it's here http://youtu.be/3u1co6Ukrqs The shenanigans with the ABS live data is because it won't let you see more than four parameters at a time. I think that this is a limitation of the ECU rather than my software, but only the T4 guys will know that for sure. The refresh rate for the diesel engine starts to slow down as I select everything because that's sort of how it works. If you only select one thing it can update it quite quickly but as the software has to poll the ECU for more and more parameters it takes longer to get through them all. It's just a limitation of the bus speed of the K line. |
You need to work on the ABS then as the T4 and my software doesn't have any problems displaying the live data, think its 6 shown on the overview page, you need a quick refresh when on a road test to see each wheel speed correctly.
The T4 only displays 16 parameters on the DDE main overview page so that could be the limit for successful real time data, maybe you need to limit the number of parameters that can be selected as again, slow update times on live data is of no use to spot intermittent glitches. |
In the video the update time for the ABS looks terrible, but it is isn't. The reason why it looks so bad is that I keep selecting / deselecting parameters. If you select four and then leave it alone you get a delay for a second or so while it sets it up and then after that you get a useable refresh rate.
Unfortunately I couldn't drive Robs car and video the laptop at the same time. For all of the other ECUs you can select as many or as few as you like. If you select only one or two it will refresh really fast, or if you just want to look at everything you can do that too but it will be slower. It's up to the user. |
