Best I got in summer in France with lots of Cruise control on straight roads was 635 Air con on Economy (cos of NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- weather). Best now with parking heater most mornings and very urban gives approx 445. (Shell usually)

At this time of year Im getting around the 460 to 490 on my long runs (Dual carriage Ways & Motorways then Airport Entrances & car Parks) average speed 55mph max 85mph. Thats from Really Full to Warning Light. Auto gearbox. Mine does drop very low in towns but otherwise great. Improvements since Mods, Engine Breather Cleans etc. (Notice it drops if Air Filter not changed regular & I change oil etc at around 7500 miles.)

Last summer I did 1,000 km/621.5 Miles on a full tank and topped up to full again with 62.2 litres/13.6 Gallons. Motorway only and a fairly steady 130 kph/81 mph.

I fill up at 500 miles which is usually just below a 1/4 of a tank on the gauge. Most I have done was 611 miles to the warning light.

Im going to have to get a smaller Lighter foot. Is yours Manual or Auto box? I know it can mean about 10mpg difference.

After consulting my little spreadsheet (sad I know...) on 9th Sept 05 I refilled the tank with 62.90 litres having covered 747.5miles. Honest! If I recall this was covered in 2 days travelling from Bath to Farnborough, Farnborough to Barrow and Barrow to Weymouth, with most of the time spent on cruise control at 65mph on the motorway with aircon off, giving a tad over 54mpg. 15" Contis pumped to 34psi help as well.

I have no doubt that the yellow light was on for some time and that the heart rate was up as I freewheeled into the petrol station. I do carry some spare juice though and know that I can go 70 odd miles after the warning light comes on.

Some weeks later I refilled using 57.88litres having covered 721.8miles which gives 56.69mpg.

I was obvioulsy on an economy drive (diesel was around 95p a litre at the time!) and didn't have the TU3B fitted.

I now usually fill up after 600-650 miles.

For info the most fuel I've ever squeezed in is 64.15 litres. I think the quoted capacity is 65!

are you still monitoring with TU3.. be interested to know what its like in comparison on fill-ups that you are feeling economy minded?!

Mine is a manual. I have recently fitted a tu3b, so when I refill I will keep a note to see if there is any difference. If anything I expect it to be better. Most of my driving is on country lanes btw!
