Location of every ECU on a ZT ?
I am after a bit of a favour.
I have been told about a ZT that is being taken away and scrapped tomorrow. The paperwork has already been done and it can't be reversed, and the land owner would not be willing to help in anyway, anyway. Right so here is my ask. I am going down there now with some tools and a torch and I need to find every ECU I can off of the car, and as much loom as I can manage, and I would like to make myself a "75 in a box" so that I can hook up my T4 to it and reverse engineer absolutely everything on the car. If a T4 talks to it, I want it. So can anyone tell me all the ECUs on the car, and physically where I look for them please? thanks, Philip |
This was the lovely car I found:-

If anyone can tell me where that is maybe someone can retrieve it for me in the morning. The only notes I can find are "in front of the rev counter end of the instruments", but there is nothing there. |
Think this is the bit your looking for?

The early cars like that one have a different reciever and it's under the centre console by the handbrake ;) Russ |
There was a box right next to the airbag ECU. I didn't know what it was so I took it anyway. Is that the alarm receiver?

is it the black box on the left of this pic?

Did you ever get the bosch abs 5.7 system working for the bleed function?
I recently saw an old post where you mentioned it, but looking at your website this feature is not listed |

I have been struggling to get access to a car. At the moment Rob Bell has lent me his ZT-T so I am finally making some progress. I have wondered whether running the bleed function on a car without opening the bleed nipples is a good idea, my fear is that I could be asking the motors in the pump to do something that they are not designed for. Additionally I forgot to take the ABS module off the above abandoned car; fortunately it is still there and I managed to get someone to remove the module, I just need to go and pick it up. This means that I will be able to reverse engineer the bleed function and test it without having to worry about damaging Rob's ZT-T. |
I hope you will report back as soon as you get it working. There are many units on the market with this feature, so it cant cause damage can it?
My problem has always been finding one guaranteed to operate on the early diesels which are not quite obd2 compliant. |

If it doesn't work as described here http://pscan.uk/features/75zt.html, or even if you just don't like it and return it within two weeks you will get a full refund, no questions asked. The return policy is here http://pscan.uk/buy/ |
