Having fought with the dreaded bolt for two days, my son, who is studying motor mechanics at college, borrowed this breaker bar... and removed said bolt for me in 2mins. :duh:

He did it with one hand and barely any effort.... I'd be thrilled if he wasn't so smug about it!!!!

Ah, the beauty of leverage.

So ,size really does matter.

3/4 drive ?

That's not a breaker bar. That's a torque wrench used to tighten things up not loosen them!

Yes, it is, but hey, it made light work of the job! (And I'll be tightening the new bolt tomorrow)...

And yes, 3/4 inch drive.

Perhaps he has just started at college, and they haven't covered that part of the course yet. :getmecoat:

Just wonder how close to shearing the bolt we come with huge wrench's and scaffold pipe etc..impact has to be the better way IMO though, hey ho well done you got it off :}
