NavAll 1 - replace external microphone

Hi Gents,

I took over the ZT as a daily drive from SWMBO (I bought her a Jaguar :D) and have numerous complaints from people calling me on my cell that they can hardly hear me. I have set the External BT mic volume to max and also de internal mic volume to max. It does not really matter.

Can I replace the mic with another preferably active microphone with a 2˝mm connector?

Like something like this one: click

TIA

Greetz,

Jan

Hi Sean,

Tx for your reply and continuous support!

I know that the device uses either the internal or the external mic. But since I didn't know if the external one was broken or not I tried both:}

SWMBO did not really use the cell in the car (smart cookie :D ) so she made an occasional call. I vaguely remember her calling her last year and audio quality was good.

Could it be the mic has given up on me? Can you recommend a replacement?

Funny thing is: if I refer to the installation manual I see this:

Looking forward!

We have the standard Mics in stock or did you want to try something upgraded?

Hi Sean,

Can you tell me and show me the difference between the standard mic and the upgraded version? The mic I have now is situated on top of the steering column. I would rather like to have it placed at the ceiling light (for lack of the correct term) so it would need a rather long wire.

And please tell me by PM what these mics cost (postage to the Netherlands :} )

TIA

Well, took the plunge and ordered a mic on Ali with the correct connector.

Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. We'll see.

Keep you posted!

Does your car have traffic master in it ? if so you will have a mic in the interior light housing all wired in that you can modify for your Navall

Sjonnie 27th November 2017 15:27

Nope! No trafficmaster in the car  So stuck with replacing the mic with a new one.

Got the mic a few days ago and installed it yesterday. Made some calls and reception was excellent. So it seems the original just "gave up" on me.

The mic cost me a mere € 2,- (1,5 GBP?) including shipping from beautiful China :D
