+1 on the SGS struts. Below is what happens when your bonnet drops when you are not expecting it to:-

The bonnet drops, your finger is in the gap that is just not wide enough for it and you try to pull it out! Ouch! :getmecoat::duh:

Yes! So was my finger! I managed to keep the skin by taping it down with a plaster and bracing the finger with a lolly stick, as every time I bent the finger, the skin slipped. It took about two weeks before I could bend it safely. All fine now with a "Smiley" scar to match my numberplate (true Rover 75 fanatic!).

I have been meaning to order a pair of these for over a year. I keep forgetting until I have to do something under the bonnet, like this afternoon for example when I had to change a parking light bulb. I have to use my umbrella to keep it up because I just don't trust it anymore. It's dropped a couple of times.

I keep thinking I best get it sorted before the next MOT, I guess a bonnet falling on the MOT inspector would not go down well.

Are saloon bonnet struts OK for a Tourer ?

Yes as the bonnet is the same, for saloon or tourer

Sounds just like me - been meaning to change them for ages. It's amazing what a difference the new ones make - after the first 12 - 14 inches or so, the bonnet literally lifts itself. Well worth the expense.

Both pair of struts - boot & tailgate - ordered! :D

Thanks a lot for the tip.

My bonnet struts were still working but tired, and the boot ones were very very tired!

+1 for SGS struts, fitted them 2 years ago all round including an uprated one for the tourer load floor lift. All working fine.
