Wiring question..

Upon inserting a USB adapter into my cigarette port the entire thing gave way and sank into the dash by a good few inches meaning I couldn't get it out again :duh: The dash cover of the cigarette lighter has also siezed:o

Ive had to pull out the A/C control, the four switch panel and eventually the ash tray/cup holder just to grab the little.... Its now completely FUBAR

I think I will just order a replacement.

Incidentally I discovered this wire behind my 4 switch hole panel (in the middle). I have a tourer so it can't be a rear sunblind. The other 4 switches I have are electric seats, Traffic master and cruise.

So what does/could this (wrapped in grey foam) power?

Probably the traction control plug mate

Haha :D

If only she had the power to need such a toy...

I thought the first response would be the 'John Nettles' button :p:

Dunno

I thought Mick was joking about traction control TBH :duh:

If the wiring is correct is it just insert the correct switch and Bob's your uncle or does it need a T4 session?

Also... Is there any point having traction control on a diesel, other than to say 'I have it' (bit like drivers side cup holder)

The diesels did have traction control available, it is not however just a case of fitting the button and away you go, firstly you will need a different ABS pump that is traction control applicable, then ZCS code change etc, The wiring for the button is normally there, but it doesn’t matter how much anyone offered to pay me I wouldn’t go through all the hassle of retrofitting it with my T4. mainly because it’s a complete waste of time and effort having it fitted on a diesel I had it once what a waste of time

Thanks Mick, I thought it would probably not be worth the effort!

Think I'll leave well alone

Thanks for the help!

You can always plug the button in, it would illuminate when the lights are on :)

You can't beat a light up "John Nettles" button :drool4:
