Impressed!
Scenario, last year I used a car cover for when the car wasn't used over winter, but, in October, I took it off to go down to Tom Hobbs for welding. Never put the cover back on and just left the car parked up.
Washed as usual over the months and never noticed anything untoward:cool: Then, as the sun made it's appearance last week:D I noticed very fine scratches on the roof:duh: You can only see them in sunlight, normal days they disappear, so I never noticed. Don't know if they show in this pic:shrug: https://i.imgur.com/9n9zEd4l.jpg So I set about them with what I have in the shed:cool: https://i.imgur.com/Uz1W32Ll.jpg 2 days by hand and then rotary, nowt, never touched them:duh::duh: So on Monday I ordered a Hex Logic yellow pad and some SSR-3 compound:cool: These arrived this morning so as the sun popped out after lunch, I thought I'd try by hand first. Well, brilliant stuff:bowdown: Half an hour and most of the scratches removed:cool: Might machine the rest tomorrow, got to stretch the days somehow:D https://i.imgur.com/PBTLlipl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5r3K7mEl.jpg Hope I haven't bored you:D |
Very satisfying result. I aim to do similar when time permits. Very side- tracked by changing the drive belt on an old ride on mower. More than bargained for so far:duh:

Good results - very satisfying.
Surprised the rotary didn't sort them though, would have thought it would have taken care of them no problem . Still, you've got some nice weather for it, and as you say, if you stretch it out you can have a good few days of fun :}. Cliff |

Hi looks good, wondering if it would reduce scratches -on drivers door glass -as it is mentioned on the advert for it?
Dave. |
I use ssr3 on the headlights, it brings them up a treat.

It might but glass is rather different - significantly harder. You'll probably get some improvement but you may need a Cerium Oxide polish - something like this: https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-ceriglass-polish and a rayon pad - https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/flexi...polishing-pads. Plus the pad needs to be kept damp and cleaned regularly and it's a time consuming job. Maybe just give it a go and see what results come along? I don't think you've anything to lose and it might be enough to get close enough to how you want it. Good Luck. Andy. |
