Jerky video playback
You guys have been great so far in helping a numpty like me get my ancient laptop up and running.
So todays question - video playback is very jerky, often lagging 3-4 seconds behind the sound. Is there anything I can do to improve that, or is it just down to the slow machine? Its an Acer Aspire 1350 with 1.5gb ram. Not exactly cutting edge I know. |
I had (have ) one of them before upgrading to a toshiba one.Solid little laotop.can't help you with the playback issue though, sorry. Cannot remember having the problem on my old one.Which media player are you using .May need an upgrade or even a downgrade to get it to work properly..hope you get sorted.

its no blinder in the wizz stakes but ,
How much ram is there .. and is it a 2000 CPU ?? ?? needs 1 gb to give it a chance ? and the Hard drive if the original is probably a bit slow ..too All contribute to the slow data transfer rate , a low ram count means the HD has to overwork and hence jerky Video . As its got an IDE/ATA Drive ( and 133 max) you can't even slot in a small SSD C. |
I think I've sorted it!
Found a great free media player called VLC - MP4 files playing perfectly. Its an old machine this, but the better I get it to run the less I want a new one.:) |
