Btcc Rounds 1/2/3 verdict what did you think?

So what did you think of today’s first 3 btcc rounds and don’t forget the support races?

Great opener to the season.
Made a change from Brands Hatch topping and tailing the season.

Round 2 got a bit interesting

Booking my tickets today for Snetterton next month :}

Round 2 was certainly interesting to say the least! What do you think of Neate? As I’ve seen a lot of “remove his licence” on book of face. Mechanical failure but brakes and lights to fail at the same time .....

I gave up with Facebook groups on Motorsport....Much general nastiness and dodgy opinions voiced for my liking lol!
We shall just have to see how his season pans out.

On that note, just bought my weekend tickets for Snetterton. If anyone is thinking of going I would book fast as MSV (Motor Sport Vision) suggest that tickets maybe limited to 4000 on each day.

I hate all the rubbish that is said on the groups. al you seem to get is hate for drivers if they made mistakes.

I’m a Plato fan and always has been so its nice to see him in the top ten for all 3 races. Did you see his interview when he came second? His last remark... 'win 2 races you get a big ego'.... typical Plato dig at someone...

I thought it was very good racing. I'll admit I'm one of the ones who questions whether Neate should still be in it, he had a run of taking other people out last year, and again this year claims the brakes failed, but the lights didn't come on until he'd left the track. Also I think I later saw a photo of the decision by the clerk of the course stating that from data provided by the team he could find no evidence of any failure, fined £2000 and 3 points on racing license.

I was disappointed with Plato, I've always liked watching him, one of those drivers that makes it interesting. His racing was good, very happy to see him take 2nd, and hope he can make his 100 wins this season. But comments against Cook were out of order.

Biggest problem for me this year is distinguishing who is in which car, all cars and liveries seem easily confused.

Sutton, Ingram and Chilton are also fun to watch. Plus, can't remember who it was, but that car that was on slicks in the last race and went completely sideways, onto the grass and then managed to saved it, some great driving!

Very difficult to distinguish which car is which these days. Did enjoy the Minis and the Porsche races though. I remember when we had Sierras and Cavaliers!

I saw that post about the £2000 fine. It said they couldn’t find anything wrong in the data supplied by the team. Have you noticed it’s a media silence about the whole situation? Nothing from motorbase with Andy in any of the images?

There’s also been no update from team hard on how the car is..?

I wonder how many picked up on the comments plato made about cook.
It’s a shame he doesn’t have his sparing partner Neal in it this year. Yes he I think plato will get his 100 wins this season. He was getting better and getting back into the car as the day went on.

Saying about good driving there was some mega driving in the support races too!

The car you are on about was Nic, he made a great save.

Briodyjl01 10th May 2021 15:30

The only cars you can tell who is who are the Hyundais.

All the others look the same. Even the commentators were getting mixed up!

I think 2013 was the first year I watched touring cars, and I'm sure teams that had cars with the same livery, had different coloured strips along the top of the windscreen or something to distinguish between drivers. Plato was in the MG6, and I think Tordoff was his team mate.

I quite liked the VW CC, when Plato first went to BMR with Turkington, from memory it was mostly black, with very little sponsorship, each driver with their own colour across the top of the windscreen.

I did watch a bit of the mini racing, which was good, but I've not got the attention span to watch all the support races.
