Hans's digital temp gauge

Recieved Hans's temp gauge this morning and pleased to announce it is all fitted and working perfectly. Many thanks to Hans for this marvalous bit of kit. When I find out how to add pics to these posts I will do so . But at the moment I am :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Great news! Did you have to do much dismantling to connect the board? Did you record the installation? It would make an excellent HowTo.

Hi T-Cut, Hans had already assembled the unit so just had to slot it in. I've put the display in the symphony blanking plate so that was easy. Just as easy scotch locked the three wires to the radio harness, so the only bit of dismantling was removing the radio head unit. Run it with the obd trip test and its spot on.

Worth the wait!

Nice job there Keith, take some getting used to the beeping everytime you switch the ignition on. Can drive without worry now :)

kbret 26th March 2009 17:33

I connected the unit to the cigar lighter (via an in-line fuse) as was suggested by Hans. This means the unit is permanently live so doesn't bleep when the ignition is turned on.

Not sure if this is the best way as the display is always on but I would think these displays last for years, maybe Hans could comment.

Keith.
